Norton Public Library is celebrating Opening Day through the month of April, and I was fortunate enough to be able to provide the memorabilia that’s on display. If you’re near Wheaton‘s campus, duck into the library and take a look. Some of the highlights include a little bag of dirt from Fenway Park (which the team sends out as part of their fanpack which you can request via email from their website), Peter Devereaux’s book “Game Faces”, which tells the story of baseball cards through pictures, a couple All-Star Game programs from the 80’s and a handful of Red Sox cards. My favorite card in the case, I think has to be the Maurice (Mo) Vaughn Wareham Gatemen card from the 1988 P&L Cape Cod League set.
Norton (as well as other South Shore area libraries) have museum passes to the Pawtucket Red Sox good for $5 GA tickets for up to 6 people. If you’re in the area and want to see some baseball, this is a great way to do it. You see baseball cheap and you support your local library.
